4 GB ddr2 ram modules, where?

Hi, I see people with 12 GB & 16 GB ram on their rigs, I do not find any 4GB ram modules anywhere.

How do you do it?

Are these modules much more expensive per Gb than 2 GB modules?

Wow those 4GB ram sticks are expensive.
Right now the only reasonable affordable choices are:
Get an i7 mobo and max out at 12GB
Get a server mobo (AMD's server cpus and mobos seem to be cheaper) that can be had fairly affordably with up to 8 ram slots, though it's likely a dual socket mobo, but AMD's low end 45nm opterons are pretty cheap (8 cores and 16GB of ram)

Or you can wait for DDR3 to inevitably reach 4GB a stick at reasonable prices.

One of my PCs has a Gigabyte board w/ Q6600 and 16GB of RAM.

Many of the G45 and P45 boards support 16GB. Got my sticks from Newegg awhile ago. They're OCZ Platinum, but I don't see them there anymore.

OCZ released a 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) and a 16 GB (4 x 4 GB) P45 "Vista" Upgrade sets last Fall and were a bit cheaper than the Kingston 4 GBs on Newegg. They were nice, but were still very pricey. They sold out quite fast and haven't been in stock for a long time.

EDIT: Here's an Amazon link to the OCZ 16 GB DDR2 kit here: http://www.amazon.com/OCZ-OCZ2...&qid=1241014404&sr=8-2

However, availability says "1-3 months". 😕
