Edit and new bump for new one day special. 😎

Fry's has 2 x 2GB of Corsair SO-DIMM's on sale for $19.99 after $20 MIR. The site says it's not available for shipping, but you can order it for in store pickup. Their weekly ad has the same item in store for $24.99 AR if you don't order it online.

I don't understand this marketing strategy. You have to pick it up in store either way. The only difference is when and how you pay for it, but WTF... It's their game, and you save $5 more by ordering it online. 😎

4 GB (2 x 2 GB) Corsair PC5300 SO-DIMM
$39.99 - $19.99 MIR = $20.00 if ordered online for in store pickup.
$44.99 - $19.99 MIR = $25.00 without online order.

Thanks to RMSistight for posting a link to a faster version of the same RAM for the same price.

4 GB (2 x 2 GB) Corsair PC6400 SO-DIMM
$39.99 - $19.99 MIR = $20.00 if ordered online for in store pickup.
SKU: 5791462

Last call bump because online link shows the rebate oiffer is still good through today.

I am not sure how things work with laptops... since I doubt there are any BIOS settings to adjust this, do they automatically opt for the fastest possible, say by SPD? Just curious.

There is a maximum speed a given machine can recognize. If you try to install faster RAM that is backwards compatible, the system will run at the fastest speed provided for it in the firmware. It's always best to use matched RAME, but if you mix speeds, the system should run at the speed of the slowest RAM.

oh ok, I was just wondering if there was benefit of running it at a faster speed if you get the PC6400 one. Never saw any option in the BIOS for setup for the ram divider like I said. I got the cheaper one, thanks tons 🙂
