ok, so i retrieved 2 computers from a family estate sale in the hopes of getting mine to work again and all 3 of these were in working order about a year ago but they are magically not working now. i've been trying to figure out what the problem is with any of them. as of last night i had a CMOS checksum error on my screen with my original computer and now today, i don't even have that. i have random parts all around here and have been trying different hard drives and memory sticks. someone please help. feel free to IM me on aim. i really can't handle sharing my boyfriends computer anymore. with him playing everqest all the time, i get no computer time except when he's at work. HELP!

CMOS checksum error? Do you have a virus? You havent been very descriptive and it makes it difficult to help you out.

With your computer what exactly is wrong with it.

Does it fail at boot?
Does it even attempt to load windows?
Can you get into your BIOS?
Have you tried clearing CMOS?
