4, 6 channel sound dont work on epox 8rda+??? SOLUTION FOUND!!!

When you activate 4 channel or 6 channal onboard sound, can you hear output coming out of the other jacks besides line-out? When in 4 speaker mode, the line-in and line-out is supposed to produce sound. I don't have a speaker system, but I tested using my headphones and nomatter what, I cannot hear anything from the line-out or the mic plug when in 6 channel, even though I see that the speaker output levels on the nvforce sound control panal goes up for all 6 channels. The only sound coming from the line-out plug.

Maybe I am retarded or something or maybe you need a 5.1 speaker system to get it to work, but shouldn't you hear the output through a headphone still? I tried the sound drivers included on the cd, from epox website, and from microsoft update. All no go on the other channel sound. Bad board?

I've heard this happening before. I believe I saw this at the Ambmb.com Epox forum. Hope this helps.

EIEIEIE I FOUND THE SOLUTION. Sorry, I am just extremely happy. I guess not only do you have to set to 4 or 6 speaker mode, you also have to go to sound icon, click advanced, then manually set that other speakers are plugged into the line-in and mic ports. WHY ISNT THIS IN THE DOCUMENTATION?!?!?!? Problem solved! Thanks Reaper.

Thats what they have the speaker config wizard on the soundstorm/nvidia control panel for.

read the manual, it is your friend!

I tried using that wizard and it still did not work. When I manually set that the rear speakers and center will plug into their appropriate connections, it worked.
