Looking for a smaller form factor phone to accompany my work-issued iPhone 6 in order to serve as my personal/backup phone. Bought a Lumia 640 but found I hate carrying two large (5" plus) phones. But for whatever reason I am not nearly as bothered by carrying iPhone and a smaller form factor phone (like a 1st gen Moto G that is normally used by our Au Pair). I will primarily use the work phone but still want my own phone when I want/need privacy so just call forwarding everything to the work phone won't do.

That being said, it seems like manufacturers are concentrating most of their effort on the larger phones and what's left in smaller form factor seems to have a lower bang/bang ratio. So what are some good options for me? Currently on ATT/Cricket Wireless so needs GSM compatibility, but otherwise I'm open minded to platform (iOS, Android, Windows) or what Android skin is used (plain vanilla, Touch Wiz, whatever).

I think that the Z5 compact, or Z3 compact if you don't mind a 2014 flagship, are basically your best bet.

Had a dying Nexus 5 and recently bought a Lumia 640 and have discovered I hate carrying two large (5" plus) phones. If you liked the Lumia 640 in general, I'm thinking you would like a Lumia 925. Probably should be able to find one in good shape on eBay.
