"4-4-4-12" corresponds to which BIOS settings?

These modules are rated by the manufacturer and guaranteed to run at 4-4-4-12. I believe the SPD settings default to 5-5-5-18 to stay within standard voltages and DDR2 specs. I need to manually set the memory to 4-4-4-12, but I can't find anything stating which BIOS settings those numbers correspond to.

I can set most memory settings from within Windows using NVIDIA System Tools under NVIDIA Control Panel > Performance > Device Settings > Memory. I believe I still need to do this from the system BIOS, because the voltage needs to be set manually to the number printed on the DIMM label (2.1v), and I can't adjust the voltage from within the NVIDIA Control Panel.

I assume that I need to change "tRAS" from 18 to 12. there are 4 different settings that are set to 5, so I don't know which ones to change to 4: tRCD, tRP, tWR, tRWT

So which ones do I need to change?

I noticed that the BIOS in my Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus was reporting that the memory was "SLI-ready" and "disabled", so I entered the BIOS Setup Utility and changed a setting from "Disabled" to "MAXOC" and set the memory voltage manually to 2.1v. NVIDIA System Tools now shows tRAS @ 12 now, like it should be. Two of the four settings that had shown a value of 5 are now @ 4 (tRCD, tRP). tWR went *up* to 6 and tRWT is still at 5.

I re-ran the Windows Experience Index evaluation, but memory operations per second stayed at 5.5

I'm sure I need to set the timings manually to take full advantage of this memory, but I still need to know for certain what BIOS settings "4-4-4-12" corresponds to.

Open up CPU-Z.

4 - tCL (CAS)
4 - tRCD
4 - tRP
12 - tRAS

I wouldn't worry about the others, except for tRFC if you want to overclock...that'll need to be loosened if it's not 50-55+.
And tRD affects performance in a big way, at least in memory terms, but you may or may not have that setting, depending on your motherboard/bios.

Thanks. But I don't see anything labeled as "tCL" in the NVIDIA Utility. I'll have to go back to the BIOS Setup Utility to see if it is labeled the same way.

It seems to me that different boards refer to the settings with different names, and even the NVIDIA System Tools utility has it's own way of describing it.

Also, this board says nothing about the T-rate, anywhere (1T, 2T, etc). An older BIOS version used to report it while the system was POSTing, but it no longer says. Is "Commands per Clock (CMD)" another name for the T rate? CMD is not reported during POST, but it is an option in the BIOS setup that can be set to either "1 Clock" or "2 Clocks".
