Tires should be replaced at 3/32", so why would you buy tires that are nearly completely worn out?

:hmm: no Idea. Thats why i came to Anandtech to ask some people that might know. Thanks for letting me know. I was told they was 4/32.. this tire dept thing is new to me.

That is $50/tire.

You should be able to get cheap new tires that will give you at least 40K for $60-70

:| Im going to keep looking. Sadly, new ones cost $150 each. 275-40-17 tires.

Is that the size for the vehicle or what you want for the vehicle.

Many can have different sizes.

The rim is the deciding factor.

Style vs cost.

()🙂 Its just style. The stock size is 245-45-17 which is a lot cheaper. 275-40-17 just looks mean on the back of a mustang. The wider the better, but price :\

Gotta pay to play. Unfortuneately the size range you are looking for is the magic line past which new tires go from costing $60 a tire to suddenly running $120+ a tire.

I think you'd be better off just buying even the cheapest store brand new tire than worn out used tires. 4/32 on the rear of a V8 Mustang is just not a good idea. Just spend the money now and get it over with, instead of looking for tires again in a month, or worse, wrecking.

As stated above either cut back on the size or bite the bullet on price

Use the showy tires from April to Nov.

Then put on the snow treads.
I do the same for my Jeeps; except the tires are not showy and the snows are on from Oct to May
