Metro 2033 $9.99

Good game imo, I enjoyed it a lot. Terrific atmosphere.

One of my favorite games of 2010. It proves that linear, singleplayer-only games can still be amazing.

I wanted to love this game, but I ran into so many game-breaking bugs that I had to stop playing it. Stupid scripting errors where companions would get stuck in doorways and shit like that. Such a shame, the atmosphere was great.

Metro 2033 could have been great but all the werewolf mutant sections ruined it for me.

FYI, you need a monster system to run this game on DX11 high everything at any decent resolution. Graphics in this game are killer. I only played a few minutes of this and have been meaning to go back to it.

It's worth $10 but it is incredibly short with relatively little replay value; also it has been this price off and on for 9 months; time for a new sale :)

Bought it from GG for $5. I played the first couple levels on my Xbox360 (rented it), but like every other FPS I much prefer to enjoy it on the PC. Especially this title because of the improved graphics on the PC.

I can't decide.....uhg. Part of me thinks it will be too frightening. However atmosphere drenched games like Half-Life 1 and Vampire Bloodlines are they best games I've ever played. People liken it to a Russian Half-Life.

Some people...collect stamps. With steam. Its like stamps. UHG. The social aspect of it makes it even worse.

Not too scary, really. There's some Doom 3-esque "why in the hell is it so dark" areas and some suspense, but nothing that I recall making me jump. Having to charge your own flashlight is both cool (adds suspense), and annoying as hell at the same time.

Then again, I found Amnesia and the Penumbra series to be rather dull, predictable, and unsuspensful when it came to the horror elements (still good games). It *does*, however, feel a lot like Half Life to me. Linear narrative, scripted, with some more post-apocalyptic themes tossed in (differentiates it a bit from Half Life).

Less Stalker, more Half Life with post-apocalyptic themes. It's not very long, but is a good game and certainly worth $5. There are some pretty nifty weapons (pneumatic rifles anyone?) that add some fun variations.

For five or ten bucks its a steal and I can't wait for Metro 2034 to come out next year. The engine was designed for stereoscopic 3D and can accommodate hundreds of different light sources, depth of field, particle effects, etc. Even if you don't have an s3d system the sniping in particular is awesome shooting through drifting clouds of smoke and dust lit by campfires, searchlights, etc.

Got for $5 and have played a couple hours worth. Definitely a graphics hog but is much better at DX10 and it still looks fine.

got it for $8 a while ago. Kinda got bored of it and stopped playing pretty early on. YMMV.
