I predict John Stevens is gone tomorrow. Everyone else's performances tonight were pretty weak too, though.

Bottom three will be tough to call. I predict: Diana, Jasmine, and John Stevens with him getting the boot. George's performance wasn't strong this week, but I think he has enough fans to carry him over.

barry manilow is AWESOME. he even arranged the music and coached them through it. he performed some miracles beacuse the ladies were awesome tonight.

diana - cute. i don't think she has what it takes to be an american idol and it shows, and i think its mostly due to age. her georgia side shows a lot when she talks too...

george - man i love you. but. i don't think it was as good as some of the other performances tonight. i want him to get back to old george!

jennifer - she has the kim locke contingent from last year rooting her on i swear. good performance but once again with the yelling.

jasmine - what a cutie! she's back on track! i actually like her better without the flower - makes her look older. she's not as poised as could be, which is due to her age, but she was still great.

latoya - powerhouse! i love latoya and she is seriously singing to win. good all around.

john stevens - i really liked the beginning. i thought he was going to pull it off. and then it tailed off. i don't like how he keeps varying it throughout the song because it distracts me though. getting closer, not good enough.

fantasia - she brought the crowd to life. that's good, especially since they're barry manilow songs. i like fantasia and i hope she stays around to push everyone else also to do better.

bottom three on performance: john stevens, george (sigh) and... i'd go with diana.

my personal bottom three: john stevens, jennifer hudson, and diana.

who'll get booted: JOHN STEVENS BETTER BE GONE! then this competition will be on!

Theres no doubt it will be down to Latoya and Fantasia if based on talents alone.
These 2 are easily better than everyone else.
I hate Fantasia arrogance too but theres no doubt she is talented.

I just saw a clip of Latoya performance in the semi-final where she sangs "all by myself" and all I can say is WOW. She is everybit as good as Fantasia without the unique/semi-annoying voice and the attitude.
She has become my personal favorite.

BTW, watching all the semi-audition clips, how in the world did that dude, Matt Rogers get into the FINALS ?? God, his performance was down right aweful. Good lord !!

I honestly think Diana will go next instead of John. Diana has been in the bottom three for the last couple of weeks. John Stevens will also be in the bottom three but he'll be saved for next week (or the week after).

I don't know if I was just tired and cranky or if I just don't care for Manilow songs (likely) or what, but that was the worst episode of American Idol that I've ever seen. Is it just me or did every single song have a drawn-out note at the end (especially Diana and Jennifer's, but even John Stevens had one)? Working with them and changing arrangements is impressive, but I have to say that Barry Manilow is just irritating.

As for the actual performances, Jennifer was okay but screamy, Latoya was great, Jasmine was okay (and I agree that she looks better without that flower -- I knew something was changed for the better, but couldn't put my finger on it until Simon commented on it) and Fantasia was alright. I'm afraid John Stevens will survive because he at least hit the notes, even if there was nothing behind them. George's voice was so hoarse and ragged that his performance was horrible and, I'm afraid, bottom-three worthy, but I'm guessing Diana is gone now. I'd be okay with that or John Stevens.

It doesn't really matter who the worst three are. All it is is a popularity contest anyway.

DeGarmo was clearly the worst so in typical AI voting terms, her fans will rally behind her and she won't even make the bottom 3

If I had my say, bottom 3 would be Digarmo, Huff and Stevens with DiGarmo getting the boot.

Even Huff was worse than she was. Diana had a real strong night last night.

But yes, she'll be in the bottom 3. Huff has too strong of a fanbase to be in the bottom 3. It'll be Diana, John, and probably Hudson. Or hopefully Fantasia, b/c I can't stand that woman. Oops sorry, former man.

My guess: he was available.

I have to say that I've been surprised at the caliber of songwriters that they've had in the past -- I never would've thought that Billy Joel or Elton John would be on the show. Now about the only person I'm sure wouldn't be on is Paul McCartney (which would be an interesting and potentially good episode).

Personal Bottom 3: John Stevens (just plain sucks), Jennifer Hudson (too screamy/loud), and Fantasia (the man/very arrogant).

Predicted Bottom 3: John Stevens, Diana, George (the surprise victim)...John better get booted though...he sounds the same in every song and has the personality of a rock.
