What in the actual FLICK? In the 40s outside and its hailing. This has NEVER happened. This is insane. Its like some true end-of-world stuff going on these days. The Mayans might have just been off by a few years...

Hail is always interesting. We get it here now and then but it's rather rare. It's something I'll have to account for if ever I install solar panels though... it might only happen like once every 5-10 years but it does happen.

Stormy evening in Texas

Hail was out there - none local. 'Bout time. We've had major hail twice this year so far.

Don't think it ever hit 40s and I'm ~5 hours NORTH of Houston. Struggling to hit 60 F today.

Two separate storms, snow in the north and a vicious line of thunderstorms in the south. I'm surprised that one hasn't spawned tornadoes. And of course, they're going to converge in the northeast tomorrow to make one giant storm because the northeast can't catch a freaking break. Probably just heavy rain here at the coast, sleet, snow and ice a little further north in Vermont, NH and Maine.

We have a winter storm on the way here too, probably totally separate though. I'm getting kind of tired of winter. It's been too up and down. I did manage to get my driveway down to the concrete at least. Will try to keep it that way for the rest of winter. Easier to scrape it down as I snow blow than to wait until it accumulates into ice.

when does Timmins actually get spring? We don't usually get good weather until around the May 24 long weekend.

These days, around June. Back when I was a kid it was mostly April/May. Seems our winters start later but then they drag on forever. Or at least it seems that way, because they're so sporadic. Like a lot of our snow has melted in the past few months and the streets are mostly down to pavement now, but it's just so cold at night, so whatever melts then turns into ice.

We had small slight hail twice in the past week here in the Northeast USA. Makes me wonder what we're going to get tomorrow, says snow.

Hailing in Huston and Salty Nuts returns.

Coincidence?

By the way: hail is terribly common in violent, spring/summer storms. Hail has nothing do with "cold." It's common in regions like Tornado Alley and the east coast where you see hurricanes, or crazy beach storms, because it's created with drastic pressure changes that lead to violent nutso storms.

There is absolutely nothing weird about seeing hail.
