i want something around a 30db rating and use a fan controller to lower the power and speed for the internet, while putting it back up to 30 for games.

this first fan is the cheapest and the specs are very appealing. are they accurate? is this company respectable?

this second fan has nice specs too...but its $15. are they accurate too?

this one definitely isn't accurate, but i thought it was funny that it was sold out 😉

If you're using 3 fans, I'd just get 3 of these and be done with it, with 3 120's blowing you shouldn't have any heat problems in your case unless you keep your case outside on a 100F+ day.

edit: what kind of case do you have?

Newegg is just about the worst place to buy fans I can think of.

The Panaflo at Sidewinder that lobadobadingdong linked to is a great fan, but its 38mm deep. If you need something 25mm I would try this Delta.

Yeah Newegg is a pretty bad place to get fans because they charge you the price of the fan to ship it, so you end up paying like 50% to 75% extra anyway. Try to find a place with cheap or free shipping, especially if you're buying something cheap like fans or thermal paste etc.

Its a pity they are 38mm deep. Reminds me, I ordered 2 from there and need to check my case.

On a lighter note, I believe the 120x120x25mm Antec Tri-Cool fans are decent. I have some sort of Antec fan at the back of my SLK3000B. On slow, I cant hear it, medium: its barely audible, high: too noisy for me.

Would probably involve DIY to make those Antec work unless you leave them on 12V (High) on their controller and hook that up to your controller. Dont understand electrical implications though 🙁

Yup, for 120mm panaflos you definitely have to check your clearances.

" Newegg, worst place buy fans". Actually if you can buy in bulk they can have some of the best deals around.

I get a lot of my fans from bgmicro.com but you will likely have to add, change or mod the connector as they're an odd-lot reseller and many of the fans they have aren't PC specific.

antec sonata II. i need one for the front of my case 🙂. why are there so many fans!! some people say the specs are accurate, some don't...some companies have decent repuations...i just don't know which one to pick. i ultimately want something that will perform like a nexus real quiet case fan at 6v, and something that will blow around 70cfm at 30-35db.
