3rd party ATI cards

I've never owned a NON ati built ati card so I was wondering, when you update the drivers do the 3rd party manufacturers release their own version of the drivers or do they all use the same? Because with my laptop, which has a mobility radeon 9700, I can't use the regular drivers.

ATI does have Catalyst driver support for radeon mobility now, so maybe yours is now supported?

Graphics technologies supported

Mobility? Radeon® X800
Mobility? Radeon® X700
Mobility? Radeon® X600
Mobility? Radeon® X300
Mobility? Radeon® 9800
Mobility? Radeon® 9700
Mobility? Radeon® 9600

Catalyst drivers should support most 3rd party cards now, otherwise modded drivers like Omega's probably would. Some vendors also have their own drivers onsite.
