Does anyone know the basic difference between these 3 models of 3rd generation (82-85) Toyota Celicas? I'm buying an '82 tommorrow, and I'm pretty sure it's a GT (it's a 5 speed, i think the ST's were 4 speed) and I was curious if anyone has any experience. I know that it has a 2.4l 4 cyl and I'm sure it's not a Supra. ;)

Okay, from what I've seen from scouring the web, the only difference between the ST and GT on the 3rd gen is that the ST has a 2 barrel carb and the GT has EFI. The GT also has different suspension in the back, but the engines are the same size, compression, etc. (2.4l, 9.0:1) They are both also rear wheel drive, a trend that unfortunately was dropped by the Celica line in 1986. IMHO, read wheel drive handles much better.

Does anyone own one of these and have experience with performance mods on them? I don't know a whole lot, but I've found a few online resources, and I'm thinking I'll start out trying maybe a header and some cold air injection mods. Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Oh yeah, and does anyone know of a good place to get a nice paint job without breaking the bank?
