Well, my first new car comes in on the 4th, and I want to start protecting it ASAP. Anybody have one, and how much did it cost to have yours installed?

I've seen a seller who sells precut pieces of the 3M covering, but I'm a little hesitant about installing it myself.........

Not bad, and it looks much better than those sh!tty a$$ black bras. Can they come off eventually if professionally removed, or is it permanent?

it's not permanent.
it's clear 3m Film.

You can peel it off with a bit of heat, I think. I don't see why you'd want to.
The place I was quoted warranty their work for a lifetime, so if there are any issues with it, Just bring it back and they'll redo it.

I got my 30% tints there ;) Had the tint for a year and half and it still looks great :)

i've heard there better also because it doesn't get as bad 'tan lines' as non clear bras. the part that is exposed fades a lil over the years.

I haven't found any place here that does it - most placed look at my like a dumbass when I ask about it. According to the 3M website, the closest authorized 3M installer is nearly two hours away.

The website that I found which sells precut pieces wants nearly 500 BUCKS for the vinyl alone!!!! http://www.scioned.com/clearbra.asp :Q

I have it on my black TT. I don't remember how much I paid.. in the low hundred's. I opted to do the install myself. On my black car the edges are pretty visible, though you won't be able to see it after a couple of feet. So the visible edges bug me, but I'm happy my frontend isn't covered with rock chips.

Would I do it again? Probably. Though I would probably get it professionally installed next time. And maybe a custom kit.

Other brand names (that are also 3m film) are Stongard and Invinca-shield. You can see if they have recommended dealers/installers in your area.

Is this stuff really worth $500? How much can it cost to have chips on the hood repaired compared to this stuff?

So did you pick a personalized plate for your umm well I don't know what to call that thing. And was A55 RGY available? :p

Man, 500 dollars will almost repaint your entire front end. :p

I thought about getting one of these, but the cost was on the high side. Plus my car isn't worth that much really. I was however thinking about buying a CF hood to save damage to the stock one and then getting an unpainted front bumper. :p

Yea, 500 just seems excesive to me. I'd be willing to spend up to 300 bucks installed, but at that price its not worth it.

$500 will buy you a CF hood and a bumper from the junkyard so that you can save the original ones from damage. Too bad the paint won't match when you put the originals back on. :D
