3GB Fix for Supreme Commander and Vista-32. Having problems

To play Supreme Commander I need some memory patch from microsoft (KB940105), but the patch says it doesn't apply to my system and therefore I cannot install it.. WTF?! Any ideas on how I can get this to work?

Same here. I assumed that it meant that it was already loaded. So you haven't been able to play SC? My box seems to be quite similar to yours and I haven't had any problems that I know of.

Any 80x80 map? If you want, you can give me the name of a map that causes this problem and I'll play it and see if it screws me too. What OS are you running?

Veesta. Idk I've been saving every 20 minutes and so far 2 hours in it hasn't crashed.. (8supreme AI free for all) Odd.. guess thats the trick I suppose.

It was on that huge snowflake type island with 8 player slots.

From the Forged Alliance thread that was here recently, it seems that there may be a patch from Sup Com to fix this. The "fix" seems to be in Forged Alliance too from what i have read.

If you have enjoyed or will enjoy Sup Com, the easiest solution although not the cheapest may be to buy Forged Alliance.

@coldkilla:
about the 2gb memory limit, looks like it has been delt with in FA
here, squidbot, a GPG employee posted some info:
http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?t=21802
but still if you manage to hit the limit, enable PAE in the boot.ini so your 32bit OS can utilize more then 2gb of memory (if you have more memory sticks)

supc 3gb memory enabler for 32bit OS

That may help you.

EDIT: If this does not help, perhaps using Add & Remove Programs, you can remove the Windows patch and reinstall it.
