How bout you look at the parts some people are running and the scores explain themselves, unless they have some driver issues.

And I scored: 9247... Either you ARE talking about 3DMark05, or your system is FUBAR!

It must be a 64-bit 5500. Those things are terrible. Either that or something's out of whack with his drivers, or he has AA/AF forced on or something like that.
 
My god go spend 70 clams on at the least one of these Jetway 128 bit 9600 LE cards and get that score up to 10k anyway. My kids 2500+@2ghz will score about 10k with the Jetway card in that test. Interestingly enough that Jetway card cost a little less than the 5500FX cards. Pray tell why would you put that 3200+ A64 in that nice NForce 3 board and then neuter it with a 5500FX.

There is definately something wrong with your PC. With your hardware, you should expect high 20,000 from 3dMark01 SE.
And you should expect 4-5k from 3dMark05
