Maverick2002
Ah, don't leave yourself so open for harassement, I'm a nice guy but some people here are not that mature. First, I do have a Athlon 650 Classic over your Duron 600 (check out AMD website to see the differences, I just had this conversation of why the Classic is still better than a Duron). Second, I'm using Windows 98 (NOT SECOND EDITION which I think is sloower) with DirectX 7.1, third, I spent about 3 hours tweaking the core/clock freq (30 lockups/reboots later...), fourth, I've spent lots of time tweaking my BIOS settings, fifth, I have a TYAN K7 which I think is a very UNDER rated board because it isn't a overclockers dream board (there is more to an board than a lot of clock freqs), sixth, I really do know what I am doing (do a search for my name and look at my posts)and have no reason to "fudge" benchmark results.
BUT to be honest, it may be 3DMarks, I wouldn't trust this program as the "final" word to grahpic card preformance. As I said, my Radeon was really seeming to "drop" frames but it reported a score that was just about as fast as a MX which didn't seem to drop any frames. Go figure, maybe I have just the right "combination" of hardware. Another thing, how much "stuff" in sitting in your system tray? Do you have MS Office loaded (if so, that may be the issue right there, this is my Game computer, I only have games and the Novell Netware Client software loaded on this computer)or other software apps? Maybe start with a Clean Install and see what your getting.
