OK folks,

Was getting 1971 with my inno3d geforce 2 mx. COuldn't figure out why. Tried beta drivers, but they didn't work either.

I then got some info to load the via 4in1 drivers and MAN! Now I get 4981 on my 600 duron (Oc'ed to 850). Can't oc the video card any higher than 189/171 or it gets artifacts bad!

It seems that most of the MX ranges have been in a pretty close range of 4000-5000 3DMARKS for AMD processors from 600-1000MHz range of Clock Freqs. Maybe at this point for a MX a increase in CPU speed isn't going to improve the 3DMARKS. But as your score has demostrated that you have a 1GHz Thunderboard that has SPANKED the MX. My RADEON (using SDR)is right around 4400 at 650MHz. I'm going to start on a GFD this week so when I get the results I'll start on a thread on 3DMARKS vs CPU Frequency for the RADEONS. Maybe with a lttle luck we can start to get some good 3DMarks for the RADEONS.

Also, have you found a Twak Program that will allow you to bump up the clock freq on your Radeon? I've checked and I can't seem to find anything.

hmmmmmmmm........very interesting how people claim to get 5000 3dmark on a herc 3d.....i got my leadtek 2mx OCed at 185c/180m runnin on a duron 600@650 and yes, when i installed the 4in1 drivers i DID get an extra 200 points, but that only brings me up to 4288........how on EARTH did you get 5000??????????
BTW, does agp 4x really help???? i heard its useless for now......

Ah, don't leave yourself so open for harassement, I'm a nice guy but some people here are not that mature. First, I do have a Athlon 650 Classic over your Duron 600 (check out AMD website to see the differences, I just had this conversation of why the Classic is still better than a Duron). Second, I'm using Windows 98 (NOT SECOND EDITION which I think is sloower) with DirectX 7.1, third, I spent about 3 hours tweaking the core/clock freq (30 lockups/reboots later...), fourth, I've spent lots of time tweaking my BIOS settings, fifth, I have a TYAN K7 which I think is a very UNDER rated board because it isn't a overclockers dream board (there is more to an board than a lot of clock freqs), sixth, I really do know what I am doing (do a search for my name and look at my posts)and have no reason to "fudge" benchmark results.

BUT to be honest, it may be 3DMarks, I wouldn't trust this program as the "final" word to grahpic card preformance. As I said, my Radeon was really seeming to "drop" frames but it reported a score that was just about as fast as a MX which didn't seem to drop any frames. Go figure, maybe I have just the right "combination" of hardware. Another thing, how much "stuff" in sitting in your system tray? Do you have MS Office loaded (if so, that may be the issue right there, this is my Game computer, I only have games and the Novell Netware Client software loaded on this computer)or other software apps? Maybe start with a Clean Install and see what your getting.

I get 4530 on a TBird 800 (114*7) and an OEM Herc MX 200c/210m. I have Win2K and only AGP 1X (Irongate chipset).
