Q6600 @ stock
2 gig ram
8600GT 256 meg
Vista Home Premium with SP1

Score at 3dmark06 default res 1280x1024= 5025

From what I read that seems low for my specs. Am I wrong?

hm... you should turn off all settings like AA and AF in the control panel of the card and try again...

People also tell me that my score is low for my specs too... 11k lol

im bumped the 8600GT to 625/825 and got to 5735

I guess I could do the tape mode on the Q6600 to easily bump it up to 3ghz

yes 8600 GT 256 meg, came with my Dell Insprion 530 (I know I know I usually build my own system and tweak the hell out of it but I am just to tired with three small kids to try right now LOL ) Since Dells bios is crap I know the only way I can OC the Q6600 short of changing motherboards is to perform the tape mode or pencil mod to bump it to 3ghz.

Because it's the 8600GT. It's not a great card and 3DMark is generally a score revolving around your video card, IIRC.

Go to nvidia control panel , adjust image settings with preview, select performance. That makes difference on my laptop 7150 dual at 1.80 and i score 4000. Im sure you can get a bit more than that.
