Running a 3 year old system here (P4 2.6C @ 3.25GHz, memory @ 400MHz DDR). When I first bought the system I overclocked to this speed and ran a ton of tests (3DMark03, Prime95 two instances one on each logical CPU, SPECperf) 24+ hours to make sure the final settings were stable. I recently upgraded my video card and wanted to try 3DMark06.
My system cannot seem to pass the CPU test, it locks up on frame 25 after 12 minutes or so. Is this the most stressful CPU test out? My system doesn't crash under normal use (including hours of gaming) so this seems weird. I'm re-downloading 3DMark05 and 03 since I haven't done any benchmarking in years.
Any ideas? Gonna clock it back to stock and see what happens.
