3dmark06 benchmark score with 8800gt

I get about 9100 to 9200 score with my 8800gt running the 3dmark06 bench. I've been seeing a lot of people that are running the same videocard as me but with lower cpu specs and getting better scores. Is this due to cpu overclocking? if so, would anyone know how I would over clock my amd 5000+ x2? thanks.

my comp:
amd 5000+ athlon x2 ( it says it's running at 2.6ghz)
2 gig ocz ram
8800gt 512mb (no oc)
