3DMark05 Settings

Not that I really care how great of a score I get on my system using 3Dmark05 but it's a great way to ensure you have your system running right. I run an AMDx2 3800+ at 2.5 (10x250). I use a 7900GT that is mildly oc'ed to 510/730. I get roughly 6500 as a score. I have 2 GIGs of ram OCZ 2 x 1024, running with a divider so it runs at 200mzh - it's their value line and does not oc much at 2.69 vlts. I run the free version of 3Dmark05 without changing any settting -- not that it lets me. My comp is set at 1280x1024 at 32bit 85 refresh. I have my Nvidia driver settings to high quality but I thought 3Dmark05 sets it at 1024x768 with its own quality settings regardless of what I have set for my video settings. How the heck are folks gettings these insane results? If I scale down my CPU to its stock speed of 2000 (10X200) it really does not make a huge difference so it's all in the GPU. Am I running 3Dmark05 incorrectly or must I change my video settings to match those of 3DMark05?

3DMark05 will automatically set resolution down to 1024x768. But remember to turn off AA and AF.

6500 for a 7900GT is way too low - I get 8200 on my X1800XT at stock.

I believe 3DMark05 will force 1024x768 like Sc4freak said. But, like I think he's also saying, if you are forcing AA or AF through your Nvidia driver settings I don't think it will override that. I also suspect it won't override the HQ setting either. To get the biggest numbers with an Nvidia card you're going to have to set it back to Q mode.

nvidia driver settings should affect the 3d mark scores. reduce the image quality.

I think you should be getting 8-10k as your score.

I think 10300.

Make sure AA/AF are either off or on app control. Set the IQ to high performance and turn on all the optimizations.

I get 15k with dual 7900GT's (690/1700). Check around the internet and review sites to see what others are getting at your speeds.
