3dmark05 score question

I just ran the test and got 3500. I have A64 1.8 GHZ 3000+, 1 GB Ram, Geforce 6800 OC and running xp 64 bit edition. Doesnt that seem low?

Not really..... Your CPU isn't helping your score any. The number of processes you have running in the background and your settings (high performance or high quality) can get you too.

It depends if you have unlocked the 2 extra pipelines and the shader or not.
If not and you are not overclocking, that is the right score.

I have the BFG GeForce? 6800 OC. How do you unlock it and also would it run fine on stock cooling? I dont feel like messing with the heatsink and getting new fans.

In that case, your score is fine.

If you are interested in unlocking or learning about it, search on the web and you will find lots of hits. This is just an example, which I have not read. Just did a search and found many and this is one. http://firingsquad.com/hardware/geforce_6800_unlocking/page2.asp

Basically, you will need to install RivaTuner. You will use it to unlock the locked items. Then, you run tests to make sure that there are no artifacts. If there are, you may need to lock some or all back. If there are no artifacts, you will get improved performance.

The unlocking in itself does not raise the temperature as far as I know. At least, not too much. Overclocking can!
