3DMark05 problems

I recently built a new computer.

Everything inside was new, except for the HD. I installed a new HD today, and attempted running 3dmark with the overclocks I had previously set up. Everything would be going fine, then at any random point, it would stall for a few seconds, then continue.

I have checked my CPU temps, all is well there. I think my GPU may be overheating due to the overclock--I'll try it at stock settings soon.

What program can I monitor my GPU temp with? SpeedFan doesn't recognize the card, and if I do it through the nVidia tool, it only shows "current" temp--not a chart, like in speed fan.

Advice?

Thanks!

When I ran the test before formatting, it would skip some (like on the cpu tests), but it would never stall out for 10sec+.

I ran 3dmark06 BEFORE I started using my new HDD, and 3dmark05 AFTER I installed a new HD.

I'm installing 3dmark06 right now on the new one, if my score is worse than it was before I installed my new HD, I either have a problem with my GPU (which I have since overclocked further), or my HD, right?

tiz, i dont really see the connection HD <---> GPU.

Check your HD settings first, eg. DMA modus, bios..SATA modus. Do speed-tests, use HDtach, compare burst-rates etc. and make sure your HD first is ok. Then look into what's up with the card.

I wasn't saying there was a connection--What I was pointing out was that it was working, without skipping, on a full/old HD. Then I installed a brand new, faster HD, and I had some problems.

It turns out my GPU was clocked a few MHz too high. I lowered it, and my 3DMark06 score went from 4000 to 6200.

Thanks :)
