3dMark05 HotFix 1.1.0

Because all games and PC stuff comes complete with bugs, and most companies eventually release fixes?
That's why it doesn't suprise me.
Nothing's perfect, and all the better for fixing it so soon, insofar as there's anything good about 3D Mark.

I agree nothing's perfect but this thing with Futuremark is ridiculous IMO.

Nothing huge, just a few fixes.

3DMark05 Hotfix 110

A possible exploit to inflate results in 3DMark05 version 1.0.0 has been fixed
Updated Entech DLL
One incorrect unit in the MS Excel importer has been fixed

I'm wondering if this patch affects scores for the worst. I got a score of 4,292 with Build 100, and after downloading Build 110, I got a score of 3,552. Maybe its just a coincidence, but then again, maybe its not.

Its not like I'm pulling my hair out because my score dropped. I really could care less as long as my games are running smoothly, but I am sort of curious whether the new build is responsible for this decrease in my score.

Who knows? I haven't tried it myslef.
It is a possibility though that both ATI and Nvidia are doin "orgies" in their beta drivers, just to win the first impressions in 3dmock.
So Futuremark might have patched it so quickly to avoid cases like these.
It's just a possibility though 🙂

I would say fixing an exploit that inflates scores is a pretty important fix. I heard some of the 8k scores got pulled is this true?

Yeah but what's there to go wrong with 3dmark? It's not like a game, which is often patched due to:

-balance issues
-instability in certain levels/when certain combinations of things are done in game/etc
-so many other issues (poor/shoddy coding; new features, etc)

There is only 1 thing 3dmark does: run a set of benchmarks.

While it's good that Futuremark is apparently "on the ball" to whatever is the issue with their program, it's a little annoying that a patch would be out so soon for this benchmark.

By the way, is anyone else shocked at how big 3dmark05 is (591MB installed). That's pretty damn huge, especially when the demo mode seems so limiting.

My thoughts man.
