3dmark03 score - Problems? Tweaks?

Check my system rigs in my signature.

Using 3dMark03, I'm maxing out at only 3151 even in low graphics settings. I've seen people with weaker computers (slower processor, no hyperthreading, radeon 9600s, etc.) that get much higher scores in the 4000s and higher range. Is there something wrong with my computer, or are there some tweaks that I can use to make it faster? Or is there something else I need to upgrade? In 3dMark 2001 SE, I max out at 11614 in the same settings.

3dmark03 is based on your Video Card, not your CPU. If you want your score to be higher, overclock your video card. Also, if you are running the newest Cats, your score will be slightly lower than it would be with the older drivers.

I have a powercolor non-pro that I am running at less than pro speeds, and I get 4518, but htat is with an overclocked 2700, and CPU DOES make a difference, just not near as much as a video card. I think something is wrong in his setup somewhere. Format and start from scratch ?

Oh, and make sure all your driver are the most recent, and cats to 3.5. If you just changed video cards from an Nvidia, you might want to format and start anew anyway, it works best in that situation, and that alone can kill you (having pieces of nvidia drivers left over)
