3DMark03 issue or my card's problem

Hi, I just got my Leadtek 6200 AGP and inserted it to my system. However, I can start 3DMark03 and it complains that Direct3D can't be started. I reformatted the system and this time 3DMark03 started but it said that the Game Test 4 is not supported. So now I end up with a score even lower than my previous 9600. Is there anything I did wrong so that the card won't support Game Test 4 or is it 3DMark03's problem?

I think it's more likely my card's problem since I use to get Game Test 4 working with a lower quality and even my old rag with FX5200 also has support for such test. Does anyone have the same issue with a new Leadtek card. Do I need to flash the Bios or install a specific driver? Currently I am using the Xtreme G 76.41 (ForceWare) driver and RivaTuner 2.0 RC 15.4 downloaded from guru3d. Thanks for any help!

actually I had a PNY GF 6200 card before and it used to give me 4800 for 3DMark03 with extra pipes unlocked. Now with the Leadtek card installed, it gives me 3600 only even with the extra pipes unlocked. So I don't know if there's any problem, plus I can't get Game Test 4 to work, which is pretty weird!

have u actually installed the DX9 software on your computer? it should of been put on when u auto update if u did, but i dont think a bare install of windows will have DX9 on, you need DX9 for that game test 4

so go find the DX9c download on microsoft
install it
might as well make sure u have the latest Graphics Drivers and the Latest motherboard chipset drivers while your at it. remembering to reboot after each one is installed

I did install the Direct 9 from Windows update and restart but the Game Test 4 still doesn't come up!

I don't know if there's anything wrong with my card on supporting Direct 9. I already installed the Xtreme G 76.41 (ForceWare) driver from guru3D and it should be the latest. I tried to flash the motherboard with a new Bios but it seems to have problem so I flash back to the old one. Now I don't know if there's any firmware for the Leadtek 6200 I need to flash?

Anyone else has experience with this card, please help thanks!

you could try it in another machine if u havent already, that way you can pretty much eliminate everything bar the gpu. if it works flawlessly in another computer then you know that the card is fine, but that the rest of your system has the little SOB problem somewhere

1.have you tried 3dmark05
2.updated all drivers for everything
3.make sure no prorgrames are running in backround in windows
4.did you change anything except for the video card
5.could you have damaged card during unlock

🙂

but can unlocking the card only damage the card's functionality to support Direct 9? Won't it got damaged and the card won't work at all. But my card works for everything except Direct 9!

why don't you uninstall the xtreme forceware drivers you are using, and download the official 71.84 drivers and try them instead.

Thanks humey but where can I find the proper DX test? I will try running 3D Mark 2005 now!

Also I better reformat and install the regular drivers for all components and see if that turns things better, thanks daveybrat!

I had the EXACT problem last week (first got warning that D3D couldn't be started, then the game 4 problem etc). I downclocked my rig and the third install was perfect.
