I got 5619 with an epox 8kha+, athlon xp1600+ and a gforce3 ti 200. Default settings on everything. What do you think? is it good? and what settings can i change to increase the score?
That's a bit low i believe, do you use DDR ram on the board (or is that not supported ??)
I have the ECS k7s5a with 512 Mb DDR ram+ XP1600 + Geforce3 ti200 (asus) and i think at default you should be scoring somehwere around 6500.. ?! (i'm not completely sure)
Overclocked i get:
XP 1600 @ 1500Mhz and GeForce @ 200/500 = 7400 Points..
If it is 3dMark2001, its in the ballpark, but a little low.
I just installed a Ti200 onto my system (Athlon 1.2GHz, 256MB DDR, EPoX 8K7A) this past week and I got 5946. This is running stock clock speed on everything. http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2506510
Using nVidia reference driver version 23.11.
This driver caused some intermittent pauses while playing Unreal Tournament, so I installed the 21.88 driver that came with the card and that problem is gone. Haven't run 3dMark2001 since then.
Maybe a tip for the pauses in UT, in the D3D tab of the display driver you can set the PCI texture memory (something like that) Set this to the highest setting possible ! Maybe that will help with UT.
I thought it was a low score. I have 256mb ddr apacer ram and I use the nvidia 23.11 and also the via 4.37 driver.
Well, if anyone have any ideas let me know.
Yep, like Whizzy said, seems a little low. Maybe not 1000 points, like 500 points. First time I ran 3dmark2k1 I scored like 6600, but I have more RAM and an AXP 1800+. I get around 8800 points after all my tweaking, I could tweak more to break 9k, but I like playing games rather than 3dmark2k1 First thing I'd try other than the obvious (OCing board and card) is messing with your AGP settings in the BIOS. Make sure its set to 4X AGP and try your AGP aperture at 128MB (seems the sweetspot for most users). As for the PCI textures, I'd actually set them to their minimum, 1 or 0 in D3D and OGL. Get a nVidia tweak program like nVMax or Coolbits so you can tweak your card more and OC it if you like. The largest gains in your score are going to come from OCing the card and/or your system.
well ya realise that 3dmark is only a 'theoretical' Direct3D test, right? To be perfectly honest, its quite a bad test as most of the stuff tested is not even used in most of todays games and good ones are GL based...
on my radeon64 VIVO @ stock speeds and athlonC 1400 with no OC i get 3700ish scores ... id be happy!! lol
geforces usually do a lot better though in 3dmark, tho...
Hi, I know this driver can cause you system to have errors and instability. But I installed the Via AGP 410 driver and my 3dmark 2001 score went up nearly 500 points. I have had no problems with it yet except it couldnt find a file in installation so I found it on my motherboard disk. Just a suggestion.
I would recommend going to MadOnion's forum and post some messages there. It is unbelievable what some of those people can do to get there score higher.
Don't but too much stock in your score. Do all your regular applications/games run well? If so, then you are in great shape!
You should do way better than that. Turn texture compression on, FSAA off, V-sync off. And most importantly, shut down any programs running in the back ground, virus software, task monitor, instant messenger, ect.
Try different drivers... what everyone else has said is also very good to follow- make sure no other programs are running in the background, turn off vsync etc..
I have a XP1700+ and a Visiontek Ti200. First benchmark I ran with no tweaks I got a 6532. After a few tweaks I am now scoring 7308. Not bad for a Ti200.
FSAA=Full-scene Anti-aliasing. Basically this feature smoothes out jaggies and tearing effects in games at a fill-rate performance hit. For benchmarking purposes you'll want this off to see what your max FPS is, but for games it can make the image look much better.
V-Sync= Vertical Sync. Basically this matches your cards FPS to your monitors max refresh rate. Disabling this feature is generally a good idea.
