I got a 8755 3DMarks and 834.0 CPUMarks. Link

System Specs:
AMD64 3400+
Gigabyte K8NSNXP
1 gig Corsair value memory
eVGA 6800 video card
80 gig Western Digital

Also, when I try to unrar a 700 meg file about it took like 5 minutes, when with my 2000xp it only took a couple i think. I downloaded the newest nvidia nforce 3 drivers and its still that same. Any ideas on that?

Thanks

Im pretty postive its in the right way since in the bios and windows recognizes it as a 3400+ and I double checked it was in right

Hmm...actually I don't think there's a way to put a CPU in backwards. Perhaps you have the cpu/mem speeds set wrong? Like instead of 200FSB, you have it at 100FSB.

Compare your score to others with similer configs on futuremarks site. Or ask around their forums. Theyre more qualified to answer somthing like that....

But how do you explain the poor performance when using winrar? I looked at tomshardware with similiar setup and the could rar a 174 meg file in about 52 seconds, when i do a 171 meg file it estimates mine at over 2 minutes.

You have the ide/ata drivers installed right? Post a screenshot of the device manager and also the resulting CPU speed.

I have a similar computer.
AMD 3000+ (non 64)
512 kingston pc3700
eVGA GF6800GT
Neo Power Antec 480
Samsung 80gb 7200rpm IDE
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

I did a fresh install of XP w/sp2 today, installed vid and nforce drivers and posted a 9772 3DMark this evening. I would say there is for sure something wrong. with that proc you should be hitting closer to 12k.

Also i get a "The project id is not valid - please check the URL." When trying to compare with the link you posted.

I wonder if your RAM is seriously underclocked. Sorry I'm not familiar with AMD bios memory ratios but I imagine you should be at 1:1?

Got a utility like WCPUID to show you memory, cpu and bus speeds?

when i run WCPUID i get an error right away saying:

Unknown CPUID Data !!
Please report(Send WCPUID Data) to webmaster@h-oda.com

After that it looks like this Link

I also updated my bios to the newest revision and it still seems to be the same.

I ran a performance test on my cpu and memory and got these results compared to a p4 3200

CPU
Memory

I emailed Gigabyte also but haven't heard anything back.

The score is fine. As far as winrar goes, do u have the right bios settings for your hard drives if applicable? maybe u have bad i/o alltogether on the hard drive. Also what is your resource usage on cpu? And what version of cpu id? maybe ur proc is newer then the version? just all guesses...

Sunds inline for a vanilla 6800 not OCed. OC a bit and see how it does. Also use CPU-Z instead of WCPUID. You'll get alot more information with it.
