should i get from nvidia (since its nforce3 250gb chipset) or from epox's site?

I get ~15,000 with my Athon XP @ 2336mhz and XFX 6600GT so I'd say it's low indeed.

Edit: I like to use the latest drivers from the nvidia website myself, but if the ones on the Epox site are up to date then they should be as good or better.

I'd say that is low. I tested my system and got 17862 on all default 2001 settings. Is that too high?! lol

My system is in my sig

Man, I need to run 3dmark again when I get home. If you're getting ~17800 with a 9800 then I should be getting somewhat better scores with a 6600GT (overclocked to 550/1100) right?

It seems a moderately overclocked Barton circa 2.3ghz and a moderately overclocked 9800pro should be around 18k, which also seems to be what I'm getting. Basically, what I read here

You should certainly be getting around 18k as well. I found a review where a 6600GT is overclocked to similiar specs - it's the last entry on the bottom of the graph.

3dMark 2001 is to a very large degree affected by cpu so it's not an absolute fair test when it comes to your graphics card. Nevertheless, I think I can say both you guys should be getting at least 17k on default 2001SE default settings (make sure it is default settings)

It's been a little while since the last time I ran 3dmark 2001, I might not be remembering my score correctly. I'll have to check when I get home. On a side note I remember getting around 52,000 on Aquamark, which seems to be in line with (or slightly better than) the performance of most similarly speced machines. Do you know what your comp scores on Aquamark? If so can you post it for comparison?

I'm just downloading aquamark now. I'll edit after I've run it.

SonicIce download 3dmark 03 and run that. I just read someone else getting 8k with a AMD64 2800+ with a 6600GT which I think was all at stock.

I just got 6204 with my 9800pro.

I get 8300-8500 in 3dmark03 overclocked. Don't know what I get at stock speeds.

Edit: Isn't 3dmark03 supposed to favor nvida cards? I know it discredited futurmark a bit because it was optimized for either ATI or Nvidia cards.

I wasn't using 3dmark 03 to really compare ATI to Nvidia - more guide to see what an 6600GT should get and because it's entirely measures the GPU, it can isolate whether you're expericening a graphics card problem or if it's something a bit wider since 3dmark 01 measures other stuff. SoniceIce: If your 6600GT scores substanially less than 8k after installing all the correct drivers etc and using the default 3dmark settings, it may mean your card has an appoitment with the RMA department. I hope you manage to get it sorted out and my scores have helped.

Btw Aquamark is 46,600. Breakdown GFX 6,606 and CPU 8114 so no worries there SlitheryDee

Ok, I'll have to run 3dmark01 again when I get home in about an hour. I think I must have been mistaken about my score from what I've seen here.

Edit: Thanks for going through the trouble to get that score Diasper.

I got 21782.. DFI UT NF4 SLI-DR, 3000+ winnie at 2400 mhz, ram at 265X9 @ 3,2,2,8 setting 3.1V and a single 6600GT clocked to 540/1070. Latest official forceware drivers

If you havent clocked your 6600GT, i suggest you raise it up some.. Where youre losing brute force is the 2800+ itself, you need to get that HTT/FSB up there. What kind of ram are you using?

What would I get on my computer? (Almost finished, need OS, Monitor, and Speakers, which are in the mail):

AMD 3200+ Winchester 939
2x512MB TwinMOS PC3200 DDR400 RAM
Sapphire ATI Radeon X850 XT 256MB
DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D Motherboard

What scores can I expect from my system?
