3dmark questions.

I generally don't care what my 3dmarks2001 results are. But today I did a reinstall of Win XP (deltree'd it) put the latest nforce2 MB + Geforce drivers, everything should be up to date. I ran 3dmarks with nothing much else running and got 3875. I looked at one of my old projects, which was on a 1600+ with a Geforce 2 GTS. my new one is running at 2000+, I know my Geforce 4 440mx is about the same speed as my GF2 was. But I got a higher score on my old system. So I do a result browser and compare my new benchmark with exact matching systems.
I understand the people do a ton of tweeking to hit higher scores, but the lowest was 7100, I'm barely hitting 3.9k I rebooted and unloaded everything running which didn't do much. Anyone suggest what I am forgetting to do to my system. I don't expect to hit 7k but I'd like to get higher then 4k 🙂

That is pretty low. I get mid 6000s with my XP 1700 and GF4 MX440. Have you tried any other benchmarks? You may want to ask around in motherboards forum, too. Maybe there is some compatability issue.

do you have a mx440 or a lite se? I have the SE, which I know is slower then a normal mx440

It is a regular mx440. Specifically a MSI GF4 MX440-VTP. I dont think it would account for that much though.
