Hi,

since I made a fresh install of Windows and installed directly DirectX 9.0b I wasn't able to install 3DMark 2001 SE on top of it, since the installer couldn't detect DirectX 8.1. I know this can be solved with a reinstall and then install DirectX 8.1, 3DMark and then DirectX 9.0. However, this is my wifes computer and I don't wanna mess around with it at the moment (read: reinstall everything, since she is doing all her docs for work on it), and I was hoping there is a patch that could solve this issue. Unfortunately, Googling didn't help me.

Has anyone a solution for this?

Thanks.

try that utility called "DX9 Uninstaller"
you'll need your Windows CD for that tool to work. That utility will uninstall DX9 and then extract DX8 from the Windows CD.

Thanks for the help, but it seems I solved it a different way - I downloaded the 3DMark2001SE build330 again and now it works very well.
