Fido over at The Inquirer reports with current drivers, Nvidia will score 5000 points with the 6800 Ultra while the X800XT PR will score only 4500 with 4.9 drivers. With the new ATI driver codenamed 8.07, ATI score will jump to an incredible 5800. All these scores are on a 3.4GHz Pentium 4 machine. The ATI driver will be introduced as the Catalyst 4.10 and we learned it should get its WHQL very soon.

Hmmm... I'll be happy to break 2000 with my 1 year old CPU and 3 month old video card... :/

Honestly, who cares what your 'score' is? These benchmarks do not represent real games.

That is correct, but it's nice to show mum and dad and your aunty Flo how good your PC is. Can we say together, "Emmm Eye Candy". :)

I gotta go to class now... I'll post my scores (A64 3200+ and 9800 Pro) this afternoon when I get back... we'll see if there's a difference b/t them and the 9700 Pro. BTW, whoever posts their scores, please say what driver version you are using!

You can't run it with that card. You need PS2.0 to run the benchmark.

Why's my score so low? On an A64 3000+ with a 6800NU, I'm only getting 2654

I don't think there's any problem with my hardware or software, seeing as how I get 8900 in 03 (although I only get 19,200 in 01SE, which is on the low side, although nowhere near as bad as my 05 score). What could it be?

When I was installing 3DMark05 it warned me that it might not work since I dont have DX9.0c installed. I thought that was kind of odd since I didn't think that many people used it over 9.0b. But when I try to launch it from the desktop I get the error: "Direct3DCreate9 failed", and it won't open, so I assume this is related to not having DX9.0c?

Well, it DID warn you about it. Why not just update to 9.0c?
