3dfx Voodoo3 3000 16MB unable to play UT2K3?

Hi guys, I have a V3 3000 on a Celeron 850 as my main system, and I'm unable to play UT2K3 even on safe mode. The system just hangs as its going into the game, and leaves me with a blank screen. The minumum requirements are supposed to be a 16MB TNT2, and I take it that the V3 is of the same generation as the TNT2, thus I'd be able to play it, but apparently not? Is this the case or has anyone managed to get UT2K3 working on a V3? The game works fine on my dad's GF4MX440/Athlon XP 1800+ system. Haven't tried it on my Radeon VE system yet.
