3dfx Voodoo 3 drivers...

I'm fixing a client's computer which happens to have a PCI Voodoo 3 (not sure whether it's 1000, 2000, or 3000). His problem required a full format and reinstall of all the software on the computer. After the death of 3dfx, I know that there are lots of half-assed buggy experimental drivers. What would be a good, stable driver for me to install?

Quickly, please!

Did a little looking.

v3-w9x-1.07.00.exe is the name of the last WHQL driver for the Voodoo 3.

Try those. I wouldn't see why they wouldn't work....says they've been downloaded almost 22k times.

Those are beta...

Use the last certified drivers as they worked fine for me on the last install for a Client with no call backs...just make sure you have all the updates for Win98SE

Trying to get the official files from voodoofiles.com is hopeless.

Windows 2000 and XP come with drivers for the voodoo 3.

I downloaded the drivers, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed until I actually try them.

The best place is www.3dfxzone.it -- people have gotten Doom3 to run on Voodoo2 SLI and Voodoo5!

The drivers shipped with the cards were fine. Most later driver updates were just to fix game issues and/or improve 3D performance.
