3dfx Velocity 100 question

Would this card damage a newer motherboard's AGP slot?
I ordered one of the $69 Outpost combo's with the ECS KT-600A board.
I'd like to use this card to crank it up for testing before ordering a current card.
ECS says to only use 4X/8X cards in the board.
😉

No it will not work. IN fact most computers have protection against it and will not power up. It is a 3.3volt card as compared to the current 1.5V and .8V cards.

Thanks!
If I run across another old card in the future,
is there any sure way of telling?

I wish they had changed the slot when they changed the AGP spec.
:disgust:

I guess I should have saved an old PCI card instead of an old AGP one.
🙁
That would have worked.

Yes. It will fit in the slot. The 3.3 Volt cards have a notch where as the 1.5 and .8 volts do not.

I think your wrong old cards have one key new cards have two, old card wont fit in new slots but new cards will fit in old slots.
