3DFX drivers getting along with Radeon-GeForce2 drivers. Post your experience.

Hello guys. As some of you know I have a 64MB Radeon in one machine, and an ULTRA in another machine. I am thinking about picking up a Voodoo5 5500 PCI for my glide based games. I had a V5 AGP early after release, but eventually returned it. Now that there is a PCI version and the price has dropped, I'm ready to grab one.

I am aware of many problems with having old 3DFX drivers in your system while trying to install and use a new card from another manufacturer, but I want to get some feedback about having the drivers coexist. What kind of experiences has anybody had with either Radeon or GeForce drivers getting along with V5 drivers?

I'm not sure if the PCI V5 will get along with the Radeon or GeForce. Just wondering which machine (card) I would be better off putting the V5 in.

Thanks.

I had a TNT2u running in this computer(same drivers as GF2), put in a V5 without removing the detonators, no problems.

Thanks for the feedback Deeko.

Damn Adam, you are as bad as me with multiple video cards. 🙂 Well, so tell me more about your experiences. Are you switching out AGP cards or what? Why drivers for all 3 cards still on the same machine?

Damn. Makes me wish I would have gotten a V5 5500 instead for a second video card. I ordered a V3 3k for some older Glide only or optimized for Glide games. Someone told me that the V3 3K worked great as a second video card but the V5 5500 didn't. Damn. I will have a 21" Mitusbishi as my primary monitor and a Dell 15" LCD as my secondary monitor. Woohoo.
