I tried the instructions you gave, but there is no performance increase in q3a. Maybe it is because of my slow celeron 433?

john, you must have a higher level CPU to get HSR to work

it allows the CPU to use some of it's spare cycles to do "stuff"

if you have a slow CPU or play in lower resolution, you won't get any help from HSR.

you must have a higher-end CPU and play in higher resolution (or in 32-bit color w/FSAA enabled) to get much out of it

it's still beta anyway.
