So I have one computer with lots of RAM, powerful CPU and a powerful GFX card.
I've seen that NV has this Shield streaming thingie.

Basically, I want the PC with oomph to serve the games to (any) other device that would request it without disrupting any (non-gaming) activity on the host PC.

How good is this?
Can I use it to stream games to any PC / phone in the household?
Any alternatives?

The best method I've used to stream to other computers (Windows, OSX, SteamOS) is by using Steam In Home Streaming.

For Steam-incompatible phones/tablets, I've tried a couple different methods on my S3 (Splashtop, etc.), but it left a lot to be desired. Touch controls get in the way and don't offer a good experience while getting a quality controller hooked up is more pain than it's worth - IMO. I gave up after getting really frustrated. Now I plan to just wait for Valve to release an app or something. Until then, I just don't try.
