3D support for Linux on a laptop

I am unable to get 3D support to work on my laptop under Linux. The graphic card can be read obviously, so the 2D stuff all works, but no 3D support. I have never had a problem on my desktops and their respective cards, but no luck on the laptop. The graphics card is a GeForce FX 5250 AGP 4X 64Mb RAM and the linux distro is Suse Linux 9.0 Professional...

If it matters, the laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5150.

Thanks for any help or something else I can maybe try. I'm sure someone has gotten it to work out there.
