3D Program for Painting and Drawing.

Hello, Im looking for a program (maybe a map maker of a game) to help me create spaces which I can then use projector to project it onto my caves and trace over.

Something were i can place human/animal models, walls, tables, chairs ect, as well as place light sources to see how it would look.

Sorry if I haven't explained my self well, having a hard time thinking of the words for it, basically something were I can set up a 3D world of what I want to paint. Something simple.

I believe far cry 2 had something like it for making multiplayer maps.

Im NOT talking about the programs used for creating item and characters in games.

I am guessing you want a terrain editor with scene rendering options.

Some basic searching reveals they are out there.

Once you built your terrain, to show your objects and placement of characters, you would possibly need another program (if the given programs above do not have the rendering features and importation of objects you need) to import your terrain and to render with objects in place.

Typical 3D mesh modeling programs would give this, given rendering options they have.

3dsmax

To name a few.

For organically modeling objects via "painting" on the object and forming it like you would real life clay, Zbrush, Sculptris, or Mudbox like software is what many use. But this is creating objects from scratch and it isn't a part of your original question.

Though, I have not had experience with rendering (as most of my modeling is primarly working with solid 3D objects in accurate and precision dimensioning (versus mesh 3D objects) for machining, I have and started to organically create 3D objects for solid conversion and slicing.

I hope this would help you out a bit, if not in full.
