3D mode not working in Doom 3 BFG?

Has anyone here got 3d mode working ok in BFG?

Stereoscopic is turned on in the NV driver, works fine in Trine 2 but BFG, any of the 3d modes I select do not work at all. I don't even get any of the onscreen messages from Nvidia if I don't use the proper resolution for 3D.
any ideas?

basically use quad buffer option and make sure refresh is set to 120 Hz

You can also further improve the 3D with an autoexec.cfg file in the save directory to improve image quality and adjust the 3d settings including convergence. Here is a copy of what I'm using:

seta g_fov "85"
seta r_multiSamples "8"
seta r_maxAnisotropicFiltering "16"
seta stereoRender_interOccularCentimeters "6"
seta stereoRender_deGhost "0"
seta stereoRender_convergence "25"

Game looks great in 3D. The only thing that takes some getting used to is the 3D laser pointer which replaces the crosshair in 3D mode
