Athlon 1700+ TbredB running stable at 2.1 g (166x12.5) ONLY OVERCLOCK!
EPoX 8RDA+ Mb
512M cas 2.5 crucial

Getting 8949 on 3DMark 2001SE

Good or no?
What can I do to improve?
Programs to overclock my Radeon? Dont know its clock now.

I get 1500 in 3dmark 2001 SE @ 1024x768! woot!

Y'know what though? I've been able to run all games i've tried acceptably with three exceptions: C&C Generals, Unreal 2 and Simcity 4

That's close to mine, and you have a much better card! My 1700 is running at 2050MHz, and I get 8355 without O/Cing my 8500LE.. (Mine has the SLOWEST ram you can get...5.5Ns! Long story..) I get about another 400 points when I O/C it.

I never buy the top of the line when it comes out, usually 1 step down or so. Best bang for the buck. A LOT cheaper. Used to build 1 rig a year to keep up, now have to do it about every 4 months. Good things prices have come down. Never OCed before though, this is my test bed.

Read a lot of reports and deceided on the 8500le 128. $88.00 Think it has the 3.6 nsec ram. Looked but cant remember. Know the VIVO 64M DDR I have was the faster avail.

OK, downloaded powerstrip. Was running a clock of 250/250 and upped it to 275/275.

2001SE marks were 8949 now 9620

2003 marks were 1489 now 1540

Definately faster. Anybody know what is a SAFE overclock for this card or what other people have gotten??

BTW, using win2000pro

I just built for someone a P4 2.4@2.48 on an Albatron Pro, 512 of Kingston Hyper X 3000, with memory at 367 with a Radeon 8500 64meg Retail and it was getting just over 10000 in 3d mark 2001.
