3D mark score jumped about 400 points!

I ran 3dmark05 like 8 months ago after i built my PC and when i ran it i got 5543...

So just out of curiousity, i ran it two days ago, and i got around 5950!
I guess newer drivers help a lot... and i cleaned up my processes a bit with only 25 running idle...



If only i could break 6000...

just out of curiosity, your sure you did no hardware changes between now and then? because even for just driver updates, that seems like a high jump

Oh yeah im sure... i know i havent changed any parts... I mean im so lazy that ive had sleeving mesh to lessen the jumble in my acrylic case since march and ive been to lazy to open the case... And about 3 months ago a fly somehow got into my case and was flying around (pissed me off so much and i started cussing it out 😛 and it just wanted to get on my cathode light) and ive been so lazy that the dead fly is still sitting in there at the bottom of my case!

I really dont know how, its really amazing that i jumped that much; anyone got any ideas on that huge score jump? Maybe i had tons of unnessesary processes running when i ran it first; i mean i dont even have the very most recent ATI drivers even!

Haha, the part about the fly is funny... :laugh:

Drivers can do a lot, that's true, but a jump of 403 points is too big for them... Haven't overclocked your VGA a little? Otherwise I'd recommend you doing so if you'd like to break 6K...

Just keep going in jumps from 5MHz until you see the white dots (or other garbage) coming in 3DMark05...

Yeah ive got ATI tool and ive wanted to overclock for some time now, which i might have to do cause im so close to 6000 now!

To elaborate on the fly story 🙂:

So this fly was twitching all over my desk and bumping into my case for like 20 mins and it was so funny, it was like a retarded fly... So i completely forgot about it and then i hear a buzzing inside my PC... First i think a wire is in the fan a bit but i look in and that damn little fly is in there! There are no holes accept my fans so i didnt know how it got in there but it was just sitting there buzzing around the cold cathode light... So i am so pissed off and i call it every cuss word imaginable saying like "You little #$@ing fly dont even think about #$#@ing getting near my CPU fan or ill kill you whole @#$ing family!!!"... so it just died like 20 mins later and its been there ever since... Ive even went to lan parties and its just shifting around at the bottom of my case... haha thats what you call laziness!
