3D Mark goes down with increase in clock speed! Gah!

I just installed the 4.32 Final 4 in 1s, and decided to test performance. Clocked my video back to default settings and ran 3D Mark 2000 and scored 5952. Overclocked my Geforce DDR to 140 MHz core and 310 MHz memory, rebooted and ran 3D Mark again. 3D Mark ran fine with the higher clock speed, only this time I scored a 4876!

This made me a tad upset, so I rebooted and tried again, and again I scored lower this time 4812! What gives? Any suggestions? I am going to reinstall the 4.30 BETA if I can't fix this crazy thing.

Try overclocking just the ram. I have had similar scores when i overclock the core.

The same thing happened to me on my Leadtek Ultra. I tried OCing the RAM in 5 mhz increments, getting small increases in 3D Mark each time. I then, with the RAM still OCed, went ahead and upped my GPU by 5 Mhz. Poof my scores almost halved!!! :Q

I did a scandisk/defrag after setting the card back to default, and all was fine. My Ultra does not like to OC at all unfortunately. :(

<<Trying using real benchmarking software.>>

Um yeah, anyway.

I tried just overclocking the ram, and just overclocking the core but no help at all. Not sure what it is, must be the 4 in 1s becuase the older Beta worked fine.

formulav8 If you're going to shoot off your mouth like that. At least enlighten us with what you think "real" benchmarking software is please. Otherwise you just sound ignorant to me at least. :)

Try running a benchmark of UT or Q3A and see if it makes a change to the fps!
Your not playing 3dmark so only games like ut/q3a should matter as far as performance increases!
So for instance if you get an improvement in UT when overclocking the vid card then who cares about 3dmark!
