no, thats pretty good for a comp with an AXP

your next upgrade should focus on the CPU, probably an A64 with a 939 board

then you will get a better score

6800GT should score 4400marks with ease no matter the CPU and the Ram. What are the settings you are using? AA/AF? Vsync? Drivers?

cheap?

those run at about $200 . . . even more sometimes

not only that, but you'd need a new motherboard

I measured in at 5035 (no AA or AF)

My specs are in my sig if you want to compare.

CPU and RAM do affect the benchie, so that may be the difference.

edit: are your clocks stock on the video card?

·dMark05 is not CPU dependent, and marks may vary in 300marks, not 1000... So he's scores aren't ok.

Fistandantilis you should check the settings in control panel, not in game, and tell us the driver version ok?

bye

that's a nice sentiment, but changing my CPU multiplier DOES change my score

It does but @2.0Ghz on AMD that isn't the prob. And of course not 1000marks in a very GPU dependant benchmark, is not like he is running 3dMark01 ;)

I have the free version of 05 also. My score with X800XL is 4676. Considering 6800GT is the direct competitor of X800XL, yes, the scroe seems low, but i'm not sure how dependent is the score on the rest of the system.

There's something wrong, you should score higher than that.

For reference...

eVGA 6600GT (71.20 drivers)
A64 939 Athlon 3000+
DFI nF4
2x 512 Buffalo B-Line

Aside from my video card drivers all settings are as stock. My 3dmark05 score comes in a 3506, up from 3250 on nVidia's drivers.

You don't know what you're talking about. You have a much better cpu, board, and 512 megs more memory. His score is about right for his rig.

Not sure how helpful it is, but here are a few of my scores:

Barton 2500+ @ 2.25Ghz
1GB Corsair (2-3-2-11)
Official nVidia drivers

6800OC @ stock (350/700 with 12x1/6)
3567

6800OC 400/900 (12x1/6)
4157

6800OC 350/700 (16x1/6)
3867

Based on that, your scores seem low-average but nothing way off mark. Pretty evident that your CPU and possibly your RAM are causing bottlenecking. My 16x1/6 at 350/700 score is above your score, which seems to demonstrate that.

3DMark2001SE is both GPU and CPU limimted whilst 3DMark2003 and 3DMark2005 are very GPU bound. And that's a fact, Jack!;)
