3D in windows 8

I haven't read the details yet, but I saw a tidbit which mentioned *something about "native" 3D support in windows 8. Does anyone know the details?

I'm wondering if this means that the Samsung s27a950 for example will not need tridef or something extreme, or does it just mean the windows will be sort of layered in 3D desktop(s)?

I would assume they haven't advanced to the point where 3d vision/tridef will no longer be needed, but some clarification on what it supports would be great.

Native S3D support means that there will be a common API for applications to activate S3D if they request it. It won't make non-S3D applications S3D, so you'll still need Tridef for those games.
