3d Graphics crashing computer

Starting about a week ago, anything that uses 3d accelerated graphics (D3D, OpenGl) will freeze my computer. I really have no idea at all what could be causing this. I have an AMD Athlon 700, Elsa ERazor X2 GeForce 32MB DDR with the latest Win2k drivers from the Elsa site, Windows 2000, 768MB RAM, custom built computer. I've tried 4 different video drivers, from the official Elsa drivers to mutliple versions of the leaked NVidia drivers. This has happened consistently with all 3 3D games I have installed at the moment, Half-Life, Max Payne, and Asheron's Call. Thanks for any help.

What did you do with your computer to cause this? Were you tinkering with anything, anything at all?

Nothing that I can think of. I installed new RAM about a month ago, but nothing has been a problem until about a week ago.
