I just installed an Abit KT7 (non RAID) and the problem that I had with my old board (FIC AZ11)is still there. the problem is:
When I try to run a 3D game, it gets to the 3D portion and crashes with either a VxD error or just back to windows, if I get an error it locks the mouse up. The issue is not the Video card AIW Radeon, since it did the same with a 3DProphet. I tried this under ME and 98SE (currently running). I can not get the latest bios from the abit website(not found)
Specs
AMD 800 Athlon
256M Micron SDRAM
Abit KT7
sb live
ATI AIW Radeon

Any Ideas

Yes, in normal mode. I looked at Paul's unofficial abit FAQ site and got some ideas about removing the video drivers, and what order to reinstall. Funny thing, when I leave the machine on for an extended period of time, when I close out of the screensaver I get an OE message, sometimes it just pops up when the SS is on.

since you've tried 2 different mainboards and 2 different video cards, try using differing ram or conservative memory settings. are you overclocking? are you interleaving memory(don't know if it has this option)? take out the sound card to eliminate that as a factor too and see if it still does it. is this under openGL or d3d or both?
