That's neat, but it's only really going to work from one angle.

They changed the crosswalks here, they have a bunch of triangles in a line pointing where the car should stop, and I find it grabs the attention more. At least for this year. The paint they use here sucks and only lasts like 1 year. lol.

I learned on my trip there that Reykjavik and other Icelandic towns route geothermally heated water under their sidewalks and roads so they rarely have to clear them of snow

Its a volcanically active island so its more they just stick a pipe in the earth and the earth heats up the water for them


Exactly.

Geothermal water is used to heat around 90% of Iceland's homes, and keeps pavements and car parks snow-free in the winter. Hot water from the springs is cooled and pumped from boreholes that vary between 200 and 2,000m straight into the taps of nearby homes, negating the need for hot water heating. It's also purified and cooled to provide cold drinking water.
