Ok so I heard a while back that 3D will not work with HDMI for gaming, they were right. But what they did tell me is that to have 3D gaming you need to use DVI. The only problem is I forgot how, because im using a TV for my computer there is no DVI input. So anyone have any suggestions for DVI to HDMI? Another thing is, for 3D I also heard you have to use BOTH the DVI slots on the GPU(I have a GTX 560) and that you need a certain adapter to do so. Any help on this?

you will need the NVidia 3D vision kit when using nvidia and a 3D monitor and for AMD you will just need a HDMI cable and 3D monitor or 3D tv ?

DVI and HDMI use the exact same video signal so the interface isn't really the issue. The two cables can be interchanged with no problems as long as you use the appropriate adapters. The difference is that HDMI supports additional channels that can be used for audio, networking, etc.

What is important is that: A) You are using a display that can do 3D and B) you may need extra hardware (active glasses, etc) depending how how the 3D is implimented. Right from the start, if your tv isn't 120hz I think you're out of luck, but I may be wrong about that. Hopefully someone with experience can step in and elaborate.

U can use hdmi to connect your 560 to your tv for 3D gaming, but you will need to either buy 3dtv play or download their trial to get 3d working in game. You dont need the 3d vision kit. You can use your own tv's 3d glasses.

For AMD, you need a 3rd party software like Tridef for 3d gaming.

Only limitation with hdmi is you are limited to 1280 x 720 @ 60Hz or 1920 x 1080 @ 24Hz for 3D

With an Nvidia card you need the 3D Vision kit and a monitor that is ready for that. It does not work with every 3D TV out there natively at all. It only works with Mitsubishi® 1080p DLP® Home Theater TV: WD-57833, WD-60735, WD-60737, WD-60C8, WD-60C9, WD-65735, WD-65736, WD-65737, WD-65C8, WD-65C9, WD-65833, WD-65835, WD-65837, WD-73735, WD-73736, WD-73737, WD-73833, WD-73835, WD-73837, WD-73C8, WD-73C9, WD-82737, WD-82837, L65-A90. You can purchase their 3DTv Play software which will allow you to output a signal the current Samsung, SOny, LG etc TVs can display.

Anything else won't work with Nvidia 3D Vision according to the official page. The 3D Tech employed is not the same as Samsung, Panasonic, Sony etc. So if you want a monitor you'll need a 3D Vision ready monitor like the Asus VG236H. Beware that some Monitors do not support 3D via HDMI and others do.

The 3DTV Play software package is $39.99

I had the trial, but it got wasted because it wouldnt work, I was in touch with nvidia a while ago and they couldnt figure out anything, it even came to the point where they said delete the entire major nvidia folder straight from C:

So I just ditched it and gave up on 3D. I just gave up. My TV is compatible to, to play 3D on my computer and gaming etc. everything, my model is a Vizio E3D320VX. The proof is on this page, go to vizio, mines the 32" http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-system-requirements.html This is where you can use the manufacturers glasses. IMPORTANT NOTE: 3D DOES work on my TV, I setup steroscopic before with the nvidia control panel, and I did the sample/test thing, it worked great. Therefore, 3D with my computer DOES work on my TV, but the only thing that does is the sample. :/ Someone suggested I do the DVI thing but I honestly have no idea what to do, im lost here.

Again, read the pages I linked., Your TV needs the additional software from Nvidia, it isn't Nvidia 3D ready. I listed the only TV models known to be native working. No other manufacturer and model works.
